You can help out for a one-day event or coach at a weekly practice site throughout a season. We also need year-round organizational support.
SOVA Area 6 Council Members Needed!
We are currently looking for volunteers to join the SOVA Area 6 Council to help us keep these programs going. We are looking for a Secretary, Events Coordinator and Young Athletes Representative (for athletes aged 2 to 8 years old). The SOVA Area 6 Council meets once a month on the third Thursday of the month. Council member job descriptions are available by sending an email with your area of interest to our Council Chairperson at areacoordinator.area6sova.org.
Volunteers are needed as:
* Head coaches and assistant coaches – seasonal
* Unified partners – volunteers who play alongside Special Olympics athletes on teams – seasonal
* Support personnel – volunteers who assist individual athletes during practices – seasonal
* Special event coordinator – seasonal
* Special event volunteer – single day
* Officials/Referees – single day
* Administrative – throughout year
* Fundraising – throughout year
