Two Area 6 Athletes Won Medals in the Special Olympics World Games in Austria

Every four years, thousands of Special Olympics athletes from around the world come together to showcase their athletic skills and celebrate the true spirit of competition through winter sports.  Through the 2017 Special Olympics World Winter Games, Special Olympics athletes and coaches will transcend boundaries of geography, nationality, political philosophy, gender, age, culture and religion.  The event was held from March 14, 2017 to March 25, 2017 in Graz, Schladming, Ramsau, and Schladming-Rohrmoos, Austria and will include 3,000 athletes and coaches representing 110 countries and over 10,000 family members, volunteers and spectators.

We are proud to announce that two of our Area 6 Athletes have won Medals  in the World Games! They honor Area 6 with their hard work and determination. Congratulations Chrissy and Craig!

Chrissy Dryer competed in Speed Skating in the 222M and 333M events. She won a Gold Medal in the 333M with a time of 01:38.478 and a Silver Medal in the 222M with a time of 01:03.658.

Craig Licorish

Craig Licorish competed in Speed Skating in the 500M and 777M races. He won Bronze Medals in both events with times of 01:58.804 in the 777M and 01:19.394 in the 500M. Please join us in congratulating Craig for his Medals and hard work and effort during the competitions.
